If you’ve been following We Are Tabono, you’ll know that we love our co-working sessions! But if you’re coming to one of our events for the first time, you might be wondering what to expect, and what to bring with you. So here it is! Your co-working checklist!

What should I expect at a co-working event?

Well, we’re a bit different from your usual business-y events.

Firstly, things at our events are very relaxed. There’s no need for smart suits (unless you want to wear one of course!), and there’s no call for you to stand up in front of everyone and introduce yourself.

Nor is there any traditional ‘networking’ -type activity. There’s no pressure to approach people, break out the small talk and your business cards, and ‘work the room’. Some people certainly choose to sit and chat, but others prefer a quiet table in the corner so that they can get on with whatever task they have at hand.

And whatever reason you choose for joining us, our team is there to support you. If you’re nervous, we will meet you at the door. If you’re looking to meet new people, we’ll introduce you. Got a question? We’ll find you someone who knows the answer!

So why do people come? Well, everyone is different. Some people come purely for a change of scene. Others come because they’re loooking for company. It can be lonely working by yourself, after all! There are also those that come to ask questions, gain feedback and advice, and learn something new!

What do I need for co-working events?

So if you’re thinking of trying out one of our events, what do you actually need to bring with you? Here’s our checklist:

  1. Your laptop (and charger – just in case!)
  2. Your business cards
  3. Whatever you’re working on
  4. Anything you’re feeling stuck with (we’re ready to help!)
  5. Any ideas that you would like feedback on
  6. An appetite for good coffee (or tea, or even hot chocolate!).

When can I start?

Well, if you would like to give co-working a try, why not come along to one of our events? We would love to welcome you and show you more about how our community can support you and your small business. You can find them all on the Events page on our website and also on our Facebook page. And if you have any questions, let us know – we’d love to hear from you and to know more about your business!
