Month 9 – Building Your Team
“No man is an island” – said John Donne. And nobody can be a successful entrepreneur, entirely on their own.
You will have strengths and you will have weaknesses, and you will need people to fill in, where you have gaps. You will need people to support you both professionally and personally, and you’ll need people to have a coffee with when life as an entrepreneur starts to get that little bit lonely, especially in the early days.
You’ll need the people to pick you up when you’re down, and to be real with you when your ideas cross the line into the unrealistic. And you’ll need the support of your family, especially your partner and children if you have them. They will be travelling your entrepreneurial journey with you, and it’s easier if you have their support. However, we know this is not always a given, so when that is missing, you’ll need to focus on a different “family” for that support.
You will also need to ensure that the people you spend the most time with, and with whom you share your dreams and goals, keep you motivated, believe in you and give you a strong message that you can do this! Over the next four weeks, you’ll establish your Team!
By the end of Module 9 you will have:
- Identified your strengths and weaknesses in terms of running your business.
- Considered the professional support that you will need to move forward.
- Established or re-arranged your personal support network.
- Considered how you are going to manage and communicate with your Tribe.
